Synthesis Home Theatre

In the latter stages of 2018 we completed our latest long-term Home Theatre Project. This truly special room is the result of our long-standing collaboration with award winning interior designers, Woodhouse & Law.  The system birthed from the customers passion for film and their desire for nothing but the best in sound and vision for their private home theatre.

The specification of the system is stunning; an array of no less than 12 loudspeakers (SCL-4) and 4 impactful subwoofers (B28W) from JBL’s Synthesis Series, this 8.4.4 setup features full Dolby Atmos adding a level of immersion which few are yet to experiencing in commercial theatres, let alone int he seclusion and comfort of their own home.

To accompany the loudspeakers their is equally as impressive, and powerful, amplification and processing. A JBL Synthesis SDA8300 & a SDA4600 provide the amplification, plus two additional 700W SA1000 Subwoofer amplifiers.

A Lexicon MC-10 provides truly immersive sound processing and outstanding audio and video quality. It features Dolby ATMOS & DTS:X 3D surround sound processing, Dirac room EQ, the Logic7 Immersion up mixer, and twelve balanced outputs, a sensory rich and truly immersive experience is delivered as a result.

The projector is Sony’s latest addition to their Home Theatre product line, the VPL-VW870ES. Sony developed this projector with their own proprietary laser light source, the result are bright images delivered for up to 20,000 hours of uninterrupted operation - no lamp replacement, and virtually zero maintenance. The VPL-VW870ES adopts the same corner-to-corner sharpness found on their range topping £65,000 projector but at a lesser price point. This is achieved through an all-glass design comprising of 18 elements. The all glass design ensures optimal convergence of the red, green and blue primaries even at the extreme edges of the image for a clear and vivid image wherever you look. When combined with the clarity delivered by a true 4K resolution and the introduction of HDR technologies (both HDR-10 & HLG) the final projected image is by far the most impressive we have witnessed in recent years.

The screen is engineered by Ultimate Screens, a British company who provide class leading acoustically transparent projection screens of the highest quality. This particular screen is a 3.2M wide (approx. 145”) screen, with a. 16:9 aspect ratio.

The glue that fuses all of these complements together in unison is Crestron. In control if every aspect of the room.
