About Us.
Dawsons have a rich heritage when it comes to specialising in audio visual equipment.
The company was founded in 1927 by George Dawson. Back then TVs weren’t really a thing and instead, Dawsons sold wind up Gramophone record players and radios. When George’s son Cyril joined the family business, Dawsons began selling black and white TVs, radiograms and more.
Fast forward to 1964 and under Peter Dawson, Cyril’s son’s governance became a Bang & Olufsen dealer. As a result, Dawsons are now the oldest B&O dealer in the UK.
In those early days Dawsons was a multi-brand outlet, stocking brands like Sony, Panasonic, Akai, Aiwa, Technics, Bowers & Wilkins, Mordaunt Short and many more recognisable names.
Dawsons have decades of experience in their back pocket and continue to anticipate the next advances in the audio visual industry.
It was only natural that Dawsons were one of the first audio visual specialists to embrace home cinema in the late 80s, utilising the automation options for these systems. We also expanded our offering into the marine sector, working on the audio visual and automation on over 160 Sunseekers, Princess & Fairline boats.
Now we’re at the forefront of our industry, continuing to create luxury installations across the audio visual, lighting, connectivity and automation genres.
